WIL FILM FRIDAY BAR 24/02 WITH SCREENING OF "LONG WAY NORTH"

Friday 24/02 we had the pleasure to receive Founder & CEO at Nørlum, Frederik Villumsen.

Frederik is also known for his work on Oscar-nominated “Song of the Sea” and the award-winning Danish/French co-production “Tout en Håut du Monde” –Long Way North– directed by Rémi Chayé. The film premiered at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival, where it won the Audience Award.

Frederik came to WIL FILM to tell us about “Long Way North” and the dream fulfilled story of “Sasha”. Set in 19th-century Saint Petersburg, the young Russian aristocrat decides to flee home and launches a quest in search of her beloved grandfather, who never returned from his expedition to the North Pole.

During his talk Frederik gifted us with a visually stunning presentation about the film’s beautifully crafted artwork, showing Chaye’s hand drawn animation style and seductive use of color. Frederik also reminded us about how crucial feelings are when crafting a story, inspiring WIL FILM artists on a bohemian journey to use the full potential of animation as an art.

It was truly great Frederik, thank you very much. We’ll be looking forward to receiving you again.
